The Higg Index, is a suite of sustainability self-assessment tools developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition to assess the manufacturing, brand and product impacts of textile production. The tool is now managed by Higg Co. – a public benefit company that aims to increase both the efficiency and scale of the Higg Index.
In January 2021, the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (MSI) stopped using the aggregated single score for raw materials, instead it will use five individual impact area scores in the new Higg Product Module (Higg PM) to determine the environmental credentials of apparel products.
