The National Wool Declaration (NWD) enables woolgrowers to promote their animal welfare practices (i.e. mulesing status) and the Dark and Medullated Fibre Risk (DMFR) of their wool to wool exporters, processors and retailers. The NWD is the standardised declaration method for Australian woolgrowers. It is applicable to all breeds of sheep and is operated by the Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX).

Textile products are certified according to Oeko-Tex Standard 100 only if all components meet the required criteria without exception.
